            The Waynesville Spartans will head out to  square off against the Madison Mohawks  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Waynesville has given up an average of 28.9  points per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Waynesville had taken Carlisle down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end  on Friday. The Spartans came up short against  the Indians, falling  35-14.
 Waynesville's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Dillon Wiley, who rushed for 80 yards and one  touchdown on only ten carries, and  Gregory Marlow, who rushed for 26 yards and one  score.
 Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They took a  blow against Valley View, falling  47-0. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Spartans are ranked 129th).
 Waynesville's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Everything came up roses for Waynesville against Madison in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  42-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
