Baseball Recap: Eustis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tavares last Tuesday, Eustis came back down to earth. Eustis fell just short of the Deltona Wolves by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 5, 2024.

Ethan Jackson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Wyatt Cumbie also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Eustis' defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Deltona, their record now sits at 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Eustis is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Pine Ridge a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Deltona, they will challenge Umatilla at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Umatilla's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Deltona's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
