Baseball Recap: Firth Has No Trouble Against North Fremont

Firth won the last time they faced North Fremont and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars blew past the Huskies 12-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Darrell Vasquez and Michael Adams did most of the damage at the plate: Vasquez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Adams got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Adams has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kamdon Bott, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Fremont only managed four hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Firth and bumps their season record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for North Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season.

Firth will venture away from home to square off against Declo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Fremont, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sugar-Salem at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
