After a string of four wins, Hutsonville/Palestine's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Dieterich Movin Maroons by a score of 8-7. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 7-5 to the Movin Maroons when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brynn Griffin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gracie Alumbaugh, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Hutsonville/Palestine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Dieterich, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Hutsonville/Palestine will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oblong at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Dieterich, they will be taking part in a tournament against Casey-Westfield at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
