Baseball Game Preview: IC Catholic Prep Knights vs. Ridgewood Rebels

The IC Catholic Prep Knights will take on the Ridgewood Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

IC Catholic Prep is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering De La Salle just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Meteors by a score of 8-6.

Meanwhile, Ridgewood was able to grind out a solid victory over Fenton on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kyle Szewczyk was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Ridgewood is undefeated when Szewczyk posts two or more runs, but 10-11-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

IC Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Ridgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11-1.

IC Catholic Prep beat Ridgewood 10-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
