Soccer Game Preview: Emery vs. Union

The Emery Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Union Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Emery and 13 for Union.

Emery fought the good fight in their overtime match against North Sanpete on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Emery have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Union fell victim to North Sanpete and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 3-0.

Emery's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Emery skirted past Union 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
