Recap: Bowie Bulldogs vs. Westlake Chaparrals
The Bowie Bulldogs fell victim to the Westlake Chaparrals''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 62-0 loss at the hands of the Chaparrals. Bowie has struggled against Westlake recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Westlake to victory were Rees Wise and Jack Kayser. Wise threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns, while Kayser rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Kayser was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
Bowie now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Westlake, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Bowie will be playing at home against Lake Travis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Travis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bowie in Texas (Lake Travis is ranked 49th, while Bowie is ranked 356th). As for Westlake, they will head out on the road to face off against Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Johnson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
