Recap: DSST: Cedar Falcons vs. DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors
It was a good run, but the DSST: Cedar Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-43 to DSST: Green Valley Ranch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DSST: Cedar in their matchups with DSST: Green Valley Ranch: they've now lost four in a row.
DSST: Cedar's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Stophel, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Simon Alexander who scored ten points along with two blocks.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch had a senior duo take command as Jovonnie Babineaux scored 19 points along with four steals and Shalom Abioye dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Leul Michael was another key contributor, scoring six points.
DSST: Cedar now has a losing record at 6-7. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DSST: Cedar will take on Stargate School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Stargate School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, they will be playing at home against Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully DSST: Green Valley Ranch likes a good challenge.
