Softball Preview: Harrold Hornets vs. Munday Moguls
Harrold and Munday are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2024, but likely not for long. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Moguls at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harrold knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Munday likes a good challenge.
Harrold had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Knox City on Friday. The Hornets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Greyhounds a 15-0 shutout. The Hornets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 18-3).

Leeana H made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs.
In other batting news, Abrianna A and Khloe W did most of the damage at the plate: A went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while W earned four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave W a new career-high. Jazlynn A was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Harrold was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knox City only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Munday entered their tilt with Northside on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Indians 11-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Harrold's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Munday, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
