Basketball Recap: Houston Math Science & Tech Takes a Loss

Houston Math Science & Tech played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Westside Wolves 64-14. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakaila Matlock, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points. Garlynn Grant was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and six steals.

Houston Math Science & Tech is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10. As for Westside, the victory got them back to even at 14-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Wisdom the next time they take the court. Houston Math Science & Tech will host Wisdom at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, while Westside will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
