Baseball Game Preview: Wando Warriors vs. Cane Bay Cobras

For the second straight game, Wando will face off against Cane Bay. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cobras at 6:30 p.m.

Wando blew Cane Bay out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Cane Bay got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Cobras by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since April 30, 2024.

For Cane Bay's part, Isaac Brace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. Brace has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cane Bay let Drew Grimm and Niko Alvarez run wild. Grimm scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Alvarez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Grimm is becoming a predictor of Cane Bay's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Wando dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cane Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
