Basketball Recap: Fort Benton Comes Up Short

Fort Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Box Elder Bears. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Fort Benton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Box Elder, the win was the tenth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 2-0.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Star the next time they take the court. Box Elder will host North Star at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Fort Benton will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
