Basketball Recap: Pierce County Comes Up Short

Pierce County lost against Charlton County back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to the Indians.

Charlton County can attribute much of their success to Jaylan Washington, who shot 43% from the field en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Washington a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyrone Mitchell, who posted five points.

Pierce County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Charlton County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Pierce County will head out on the road to challenge Jeff Davis at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th. As for Charlton County, after both having extra time off, they and Scintilla Charter Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd. The Spartans have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
