Football Recap: Wharton Starts Season with Victory at Home

Wharton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They strolled past the Spoto Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 19-0.

One reason for the win was Wharton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anastasia Pino.

Coming up, Wharton will challenge Newsome at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spoto, they will host Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spoto is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
