Basketball Recap: Airline Comes Up Short

If Airline was feeling good fresh off their 64-29 takedown of Byrd last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Airline Vikings took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Airline's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Evangel Christian Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-19 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Airline will host Captain Shreve at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Captain Shreve will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Airline surely won't give up without a fight. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huntington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.
