Softball Recap: Whiteville Comes Up Short

Whiteville lost against East Columbus last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolfpack took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Naylani Shaw and Campbell Thompson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shaw scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Thompson scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Whiteville's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for East Columbus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Whiteville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Pender on the 11th. As for East Columbus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-4 victory against Ashley on the 9th.
