Softball Recap: Edison Wildcats vs. Martins Ferry Purple Riders
After flying high against Union Local on Thursday, Edison came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Martins Ferry Purple Riders by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Purple Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Bristol Leanza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
