Baseball Recap: The Classical Academy Comes Up Short

The Classical Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Discovery Canyon Thunder, falling 12-4. The Titans have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

The Classical Academy got a good showing from Chase Rorabaugh, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Zack Hale made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Discovery Canyon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Classical Academy will challenge Lamar at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Discovery Canyon, they will head out to square off against Palmer Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.53 runs per game on average), something the Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of.
