Volleyball Game Preview: Columbus School for Girls Unicorns vs. Whitehall-Yearling Rams

Columbus School for Girls is 9-1 against Whitehall-Yearling since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Unicorns will look to defend their home court against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Columbus School for Girls will be strutting in after a victory while Whitehall-Yearling will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Columbus School for Girls turned things around against Franklin Heights on Monday. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Kiersten Cahill had a dynamite game, getting eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last four matchups.

Cahill wasn't the only good servers: Columbus School for Girls was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Marion Harding, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-7.

Whitehall-Yearling's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Columbus School for Girls, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Columbus School for Girls took their victory against Whitehall-Yearling when the teams last played on September 2nd by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Unicorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
