Volleyball Recap: Mount Miguel Takes a Loss

Mount Miguel's tournament run continued when they took on Pacific Ridge on Friday. The Mount Miguel Matadors took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pacific Ridge Firebirds. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tran Le paced Mount Miguel's offense, picking up three kills. Le were helped by Gael Barajas and Zach Schmidt, who contributed three assists each. Finally, Nathan Thammavongsa Phonesavath kept Mount Miguel's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Mount Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pacific Ridge, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Mount Miguel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Oceanside on the 14th. As for Pacific Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Clairemont on the 14th.
