Soccer Game Preview: Cupertino vs. Lynbrook

The Cupertino Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Lynbrook Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lynbrook will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Cupertino extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Pioneers came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against MacDonald. That's two games straight that Cupertino have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Lynbrook managed to keep up with MacDonald until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Condor.

Cupertino's win bumped their record up to 9-4-3. As for Lynbrook, they dropped their record down to 7-8-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Cupertino came out on top in a nail-biter against Lynbrook in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
