Sumrall never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Columbia Wildcats 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won ten matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Avery Smith looked comfortable as she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Ella Robertson, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Taniya Preston also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
Sumrall is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Columbia's loss was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 7-8.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Sumrall Bobcats  face off against  Lawrence County Cougars at 6:15  p.m.  on Friday. Sumrall's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lawrence County has averaged an impressive 7.4  runs per game this season. As for Columbia, they will take on Seminary at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
