Football Recap: Owen Kerns and Kaiden Leonard Lead the Defense for Conrad Weiser Win

Conrad Weiser's game on Thursday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over the Eastern Lebanon County Raiders. The Scouts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Javien Rivera was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 99 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Owen Kerns made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Conrad Weiser didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kerns and Kaiden Leonard. Kerns got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Conrad Weiser has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 28.5 points this season. As for Eastern Lebanon County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conrad Weiser will host Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Eastern Lebanon County, they will welcome Lancaster Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
