Volleyball Game Preview: San Mateo Bearcats vs. Burlingame Panthers

The San Mateo Bearcats will face off against the Burlingame Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Mateo extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Elliott Kim. The Bearcats came out on top against Mills by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to Kim, who had 19 digs and two aces. He has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times he's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burlingame, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Aragon on Wednesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Burlingame had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-15.

San Mateo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Burlingame, their record now sits at 23-6.

San Mateo beat Burlingame 3-1 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
