The Woodland Wolves''s eight-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 16-6 victory over Rio Linda. The win was just what Woodland needed coming off of a 68-22 defeat in their prior contest.
Woodland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diego Bautista, who gained 158 total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Grisso, who gained 116 total yards.
Woodland's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Rio Linda, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland will take on Mesa Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Mesa Verde's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Woodland has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Rio Linda, they will challenge Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
