Baseball Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

Lawrence lost against Burlington Township back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4.

C Crowley put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Teak Toto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for Burlington Township, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9.

Lawrence has already played their next match (against Nottingham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Burlington Township, they will welcome Hightstown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
