Volleyball Recap: Pitman Comes Up Short

Pitman lost against St. Mary back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pride fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Pitman still got an impressive performance from Aila Reich, who had 37 digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Reich is now averaging an impressive 11.8 digs per game. Shanna Russell also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

St. Mary's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Nemee, who had 23 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Nemee has posted over her last seven contests. Another player making a difference was Ava Miller, who had 20 assists and 12 digs.

Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for St. Mary's, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Pitman has already played their next matchup (against Ripon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Mary's, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Valley Christian on the 10th.
