Basketball Game Preview: Branford Buccaneers vs. Santa Fe Raiders

The Branford Buccaneers will challenge the Santa Fe Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Branford's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Santa Fe has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Branford earned a 51-43 victory over Dixie County.

Branford found their leader in freshman Amyah James, who posted 18 points and four steals. James has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cloey Criggall, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe lost 56-30 to P.K. Yonge on Tuesday.

Branford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Branford didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win.
