Softball Game Preview: Bremen Lions vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies

The Bremen Lions will face off against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bremen will be strutting in after a victory while Kouts will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Bremen needed a bit of extra time to put away Glenn. They won by a run and slipped past the Falcons 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Chrissy Grabowski made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over nine innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Delainey Neher, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Kouts fell victim to Hebron and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 10-0. The Mustangs & Fillies have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Kouts' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bremen, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Bremen was able to grind out a solid victory over Kouts in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 11-7. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Mustangs & Fillies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
