Soccer Recap: La Joya Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hanna last Tuesday, La Joya came back down to earth. The La Joya Coyotes came up short against the Weslaco Panthers on Tuesday, falling 8-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Coyotes came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Panthers are ranked 509th).

La Joya's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Weslaco, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

La Joya has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Edinburg on the 7th. As for Weslaco, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 defeat against Edinburg North on the 7th.
