Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pineville

Pineville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Harlan County Black Bears.

Rachel Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.

Pineville's win bumped their record up to 20-8-1. As for Harlan County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.
