Soccer Recap: South Aiken Comes Up Short

If South Aiken was feeling good fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Airport last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Aiken Thoroughbreds came up short against the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Thoroughbreds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the War Eagles are ranked tenth).

South Aiken has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Gray Collegiate Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

South Aiken didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against Brookland-Cayce on the 17th. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Midland Valley on the 17th.
