Baseball Recap: Chenango Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Chenango Valley can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against the Seton Catholic Central Saints by a score of 6-1. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Cole Trebilcock made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of Chenango Valley's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Trebilcock was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Angelo Rogers was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Jimmy Fitzgerald was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Chenango Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Chenango Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Seton Catholic Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Chenango Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
