Basketball Game Preview: Thurston Colts vs. Springfield Millers

The Thurston Colts will head out to take on the Springfield Millers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Thurston had to suffer through a 74-28 loss at the hands of Crater. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Comets are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Springfield was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Eagle Point 58-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Millers.

Springfield has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Thurston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Thurston was taken down by Springfield 85-22 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Thurston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
