Baseball Game Preview: Stevenson Pirates vs. Rancho San Juan Trailblazers

The Stevenson Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Stevenson came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Carmel, falling 19-4. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Padres: they've now lost five in a row.

Reggie Bell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Rancho San Juan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Monte Vista Christian.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Rancho San Juan, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Stevenson couldn't quite get it done against Rancho San Juan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
