Softball Recap: King George Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

The matchup between King George and Chancellor on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Foxes' pitchers stepped up to hand the Chargers a 21-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Foxes, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Stowers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Stowers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Smith, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Hailey Sisk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

King George always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

The victory was the fourth in a row for King George, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chancellor, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King George will host Riverbend at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chancellor, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Eastern View at 6:00 p.m. The Cyclones' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
