Basketball Recap: Richard Comes Up Short

Richard lost against Cranbrook Kingswood back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Richard Pioneers fell 41-33 to the Cranbrook Kingswood Cranes. While the Pioneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cranes 14-7 in the first quarter.

Among those leading the charge was Madeline Day, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cranbrook Kingswood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Tang, who earned seven points and seven boards.

Richard's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Cranbrook Kingswood, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Coming up, Richard will challenge Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cranbrook Kingswood, they will square off against Bloomfield Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering Cranbrook Kingswood has lost three straight at home and Bloomfield Hills four straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
