Baseball Recap: Douglass Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Douglass had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Fairmont Heights Hornets with a sharp 16-6 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 13 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Douglass pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Fairmont Heights, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-5 record.

Coincidentally, Douglass and Fairmont Heights will both be playing Lackey the next time they take the field. The Hornets will head out to face the Chargers on Tuesday, while the Eagles will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
