Basketball Recap: Meade Starts Season with Win Against Southern + How To Watch

Meade had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Southern Bulldogs by a score of 62-53 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Keon Scott was nothing short of spectacular: he went 8-for-15 on his way to 23 points and five steals. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arouna Soumaoro, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Meade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-52 victory against Loyola Blakefield on the 6th. As for Southern, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkdale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
