Freeman faced Chewelah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Scotties sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Scotties, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Freeman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.
