Football Recap: Rancocas Valley's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rancocas Valley walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hillsborough Raiders a 33-0 shutout on Saturday. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Raiders are ranked 112th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Rancocas Valley and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 points in those games. As for Hillsborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Rancocas Valley will head out on the road to square off against Washington Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Minutemen have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games. Hillsborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
