Basketball Game Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. Mynderse Academy Blue Devils

Palmyra-Macedon and Mynderse Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

If Palmyra-Macedon beats Mynderse Academy with 53 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Palmyra-Macedon walked away with a 53-42 win over Greece Arcadia on Friday. While the Red Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy wrapped up 2024 with a 58-42 victory over Bloomfield. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Bombers are ranked 386th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmyra-Macedon's record is now 5-1. As for Mynderse Academy, their record is now 4-2.

Palmyra-Macedon couldn't quite finish off Mynderse Academy when the teams last played back in January and fell 67-65. Can Palmyra-Macedon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
