Basketball Game Preview: Lamar Texans vs. George Ranch Longhorns

The Lamar Texans will take on the George Ranch Longhorns in a tournament on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lamar picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Wheatley out 67-64.

Meanwhile, George Ranch came up short against Strake Jesuit on Friday and fell 62-55.

Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for George Ranch, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8.

Lamar didn't have too much breathing room in their game against George Ranch when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win.
