Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. Skyridge Falcons
The Lone Peak Knights were the 72-68 winner over the Skyridge Falcons when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Lone Peak took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyridge on Tuesday.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chamberlain Burgess, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Burgess hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomsen Kramer, who scored 16 points.
Jordan Kohler was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds for Skyridge. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kohler has scored at least a third of Skyridge's points. Another player making a difference was Tate Larson, who scored 14 points.
Lone Peak's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Skyridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lone Peak will square off against American Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in American Fork's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests. As for Skyridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Lehi at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lehi is coming into the contest with eight straight wins at home, meaning Skyridge will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
