Soccer Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to the Cairo Syrupmakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Cairo this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Monroe's goal came courtesy of Cortesa Gervin, who's now up to three this season.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cairo, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Monroe wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 9-0 defeat against Peach County on the 17th. As for Cairo, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Bainbridge on the 17th.
