Softball Game Preview: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Canyon Springs Pioneers

After both having extra time off, the Cheyenne Desert Shields and the Canyon Springs Pioneers will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cheyenne's offense. They came up short against Sports Leadership & Management last Wednesday, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Desert Shields' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to Virgin Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Pioneers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Canyon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cheyenne, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
