MaxPreps regional computer baseball rankings

New No. 1 teams in Midwest, South and Northeast.

Three regions have new No. 1 teams this week in the MaxPreps regional baseball computer rankings.

Sparkman took over the No. 1 spot in the South after Vestavia Hills lost twice in the Class 7A state playoffs. In the Midwest, Zionsville debuted in the rankings at the top spot in. Meanwhile, Ketcham replaces Malvern Prep as the top team in the Northeast.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Baseball Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. The team's record and computer ranking are noted in the rankings. Numbers are current as of Tuesday.



The 50 states are divided into five regions as follows:

West: Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Colorado.

Southwest: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona.

South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia.

Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas.

Northeast: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.



States not included: Montana and Wyoming (do not have baseball), Iowa (season is during the summer).
