After a string of three wins, Maimonides's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Academy of the Pacific Rim by a score of 3-2.
Maimonides wouldn't go down easily and took Academy of the Pacific Rim into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 15-25, 15-13.
Maimonides' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Academy of the Pacific Rim, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Maimonides will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Nashoba Valley Tech at 4:30 p.m. on the 16th. As for Academy of the Pacific Rim, they will challenge Pioneer Charter School of Science II at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
