Baseball Recap: St. Xavier Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but St. Xavier unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Trinity Shamrocks by a score of 4-3. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Shamrocks earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Colton Zuege was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Graven made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Xavier's defeat dropped their record down to 30-7. As for Trinity, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 34-3.

As of now, neither St. Xavier nor the Shamrocks have any future games scheduled.
