Volleyball Recap: Buffalo Comes Up Short

If Buffalo was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ravenswood on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison fell just short of the Philip Barbour Colts by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Bison have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Buffalo sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 25-13.

Jocie Harris paced Buffalo's offense, picking up eight kills. Harris were helped by Emery Brookes and Claire Sunyog, who contributed nine assists each. Brookes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Buffalo's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Philip Barbour, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-1 record this season.

Buffalo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Williamstown on the 25th. As for Philip Barbour, they will venture away from home to face off against Grafton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
